Best Strolls
Five Coral Gables walks for downtown, gardens, campus paths, and Biscayne Bay park time.

Giralda Plaza is the simplest downtown stroll when you want food, coffee, and a pedestrian-first block. The city describes the 100 block of Giralda Avenue as a pedestrian walkway lined with restaurants, bars, and coffee shops with indoor and outdoor seating.
- Best when: you want a short walk with an easy coffee, dinner, or dessert stop.
- Address: 100 Block, Giralda Ave., Coral Gables, FL 33134.

Miracle Mile is the main-street walk: Coral Way between LeJeune Road and Douglas Road, with shops, restaurants, theaters, and tree-lined sidewalks. The city notes wide sidewalks, outdoor cafes, boutiques, the Miracle Theatre, palms in the median, and large oaks along the sidewalk.
- Best when: you want an urban walk that can turn into lunch, shopping, or a show.
- Route cue: stay on Coral Way between LeJeune Road and Douglas Road.

Fairchild is the paid garden walk for a slower morning or afternoon. The garden says it covers 83 acres with 2.1 miles of walking pavement, accessible pathways and exhibits, benches throughout the grounds, and regular tram tours that can help visitors cover more of the garden.
- Best when: you want a botanical walk with shade breaks and a full-visit pace.
- Hours listed by Fairchild: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily, except Christmas Day.

Matheson Hammock Park is a near-Coral-Gables Miami-Dade detour, not a Coral Gables city park. Keep it for bayfront shade and lagoon time when the drive makes sense.
- Best when: you want a park walk with water views and more room than downtown.
- Address: 9610 Old Cutler Road, Miami, FL.

The University of Miami campus works when you want a structured daytime walk around Lake Osceola, campus paths, and garden pockets. The university says the Coral Gables campus is open for self-guided walking tours between 8:30 a.m. and 5 p.m., and its tree-care materials identify Lake Osceola, the Gifford Arboretum, the Ibis Natural Trail, the Palmetum, and butterfly gardens as important planted areas on campus.
- Best when: you want a daytime campus walk with parking and Metrorail nearby.
- Parking cue from UM admissions: Pavia Parking Garage, 5615 Pavia Street.
